Job Description
Purpose of the Position:

The Regional Brand Manager will be expected to work closely with the Executive Head Marketing, in building and strengthening the brand equity, as well as drive market penetration and enhance the product’s growth strategy in the region.
Strategic Execution:

Act as the Brand Custodian within the region; ensure that MCN branding specifications and standards are complied with at all times. Correct Logos, Colors and Templates to be used always.

Ensure that all MCN and Super Dealer offices, including strategic Accredited Retailers, have appropriate and up-to-date Branding and POS materials as may be made available from time to time.

Ensure that at all times, Marketing Initiatives of Super Dealers and Retailers meet MCN laid down Marketing standards. Also, identify, recommend suitable and strategic branding opportunities within the region

Propose, formulate, develop and initiate suitable and cost-effective Marketing Initiatives (advertising, sponsorships, events, brand activations, promotions, etc) that contribute to creating and growing Awareness, Demand and Equity for DStv brands within the regions.

Identify, recommend and brief in events and sponsorship opportunities that not only create good brand fit/synergy with our brands but also have the capacity to deliver our brands’ messages to our target market.

Specifically manage within the region all Marketing campaigns (advertising, sponsorships, events, brand activations, promotions, etc) as may be briefed in or commissioned by the Executive Head, Marketing.

Provide first line support/back up for the Executive Head Marketing in the region, on issues of Brand Management and Marketing.

Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)

Market intelligence (customer & competitor understanding):

Scan the Competitive environment constantly; monitor and report on all Competitions’ marketing activities i.e. advertising, sponsorships, events, brand activations, promotions, products, pricing, etc within the region.
Ensure effective use of media and development of brand support activities i.e. monitor media compliance during campaigns and reconcile media schedules with campaigns post buying analysis
Track brand health parameters and monitor changes around awareness and brand imagery.
Analyze the market research data, external market study results with respect to growth prospects, changes in brand positioning, and general brand health in the region.
Competitive Intelligence & Analysis – Gather and analyze subscriber insight.
Analyze how our brand is positioned in the market and crystalize targeted consumers insights
Monitor product distribution and consumer reactions across the region
Operational Deliverables:

Manage all marketing suppliers and agencies to ensure that they comply with MCN policies and requirements and that goods and services rendered meet our brand specifications
Drive & manage creative meetings with Ad Agencies and ensure optimal and timely delivery of all required advert materials.
On-time delivery of Assigned Marketing Projects with alignment from all internal stakeholders and Agency partners
Work closely with several advertising agencies to manage brand marketing campaigns
Identify, engage and maintain a regional database of ATL & BTL Agencies, Media Houses, Super Dealers, Authorized Distributors, and Accredited Retailers.
Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain constructive working relationships with customers, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders
Create and manage working relationships with these stakeholders with a view to when necessary leverage the relationships to achieve MCN business goals and objectives.
Agency interaction, liaison with creative, media and digital agencies on a regular basis to move the brand in the designated direction.
Support in managing the Interface between Marketing, Sales and Operations i.e. Special projects roll-outs, Super dealer launches, etc.
Budget Management:

Execute brand activities on-ground, ensuring optimum cost management
Monitoring of the region’s brand budget/expenditure for the efficiency of spend
Establish performance specifications, cost and price parameters, market applications and sales estimates

Qualifications Essential:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related fields
A minimum of 7 years of marketing experience
Detailed commercial and financial acumen, balanced with creative flair
